Pian della Nana is an intact and wonderful example of an alpine prairie environment. Here, from the spring thaw until autumn, there is a succession of picturesque blooms: primroses, anemones, gentians, bluebells, negritelle and dozens of other splendid flowers reveal their enchantment to those who walk the mountain paths. Passing from the prairie to the rocky areas, one encounters the tenacious flowers of the cliffs: edelweiss, saxifrage, houseleeks and many more.
