PREDAIA

The Predaia meadows produce an abundance of hay, even for a few South Tyrolean farmers, i.e., the “todeschi” (‘Germans’), which explains the old name for this refuge: Predaia ai todes-ci. It enjoys a prominent position in the Val di Non, with views of the Brenta’s rock faces where the sun sets. The refuge is open all year round: in winter for fun in the snow, sledging, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing; in summer children can play on the meadows (and in the small playground) and there are also easy walks, and mountain bike and horse-riding trails. Being easily accessible (you can get there by car), it also attracts gatherings of friends and families for al fresco eating. Open All year round Before leaving for your hike, always contact the manager to verify the actual opening of the mountain hut Walks From Rifugio Predaia it’s around a 2-hour walk to the Corno di Tres, a fantastic viewpoint over the Adige Valley and numerous peaks in Trentino (difficulty E). It takes just an hour, instead, to walk to the Malga Nuova di Coredo (difficulty E).
