Eishof

Hidden in the breathtaking scenery of the Val di Fosse, a side valley of the Val Senales in Val Venosta, the rustic Eishof mountain hut is immersed in an atmosphere of other times. Here, at over 2000 metres, the present still counts. Away from the stress and hustle and bustle of everyday life, the young team at the Eishof offers a good mountain mood to the hungry hikers, who let themselves be spoiled by the excellent cuisine of the hut.

The history of the Eishof dates back to the 13th century. The historical atmosphere still permeates the rooms of the refuge today. Known at the time as the tallest permanent settlement in the Eastern Alps, today it is a much appreciated hiking destination on the High Merano Road and a much appreciated place to spend the night between the three thousand meters of the Val di Fosse.

In view of the hard fight for the conquest of the peaks you will also find excellent accommodation at the Eishof. For breakfast you can enjoy regional honey, milk and cheese from the farm next door, homemade bread, Vinschgau tea and all kinds of homemade food directly from the Eishof cuisine.

At lunch, the Eishof team serves traditional alpine dishes in a new guise - dumplings, snack board and Kaiserschmarrn are rethought and presented with love. In the evening, a 3-course mountain dinner closes the palate’s delights – vegetarian or vegan options are also available.

You can stay at the Eishof in one of the five shared rooms. Towel and bed linen are provided, you should bring a thin sleeping bag though. Have fun and enjoy every moment at the Eishof in Val di Fosse!
