Begin at the car park near Tassullo train station and follow the white and red signs to the Santa Giustina hermitage.
Take the underpass below the station to cross the tracks in safety. Then turn left and walk alongside the tracks on a tarred road for a brief stretch. Continue onwards, following the red-white signs on walls and the road, descend into the apple orchard, and take a right a few metres before the tarred road becomes a gravel road. Keep following the signs to reach the new bridge across the river Noce.
The bottom of the gorge where the river flows is also a nature park with wych elm forests and birdlife including river kingfishers, dippers and dabchicks. The following ascent to the orchard is fairly quick. To the right, you will see a sign for the village of Dermulo, a 15-minute walk away.
To complete the loop and return to Tassullo, keep walking across the orchard following the red-white signs on the concrete support pillars in the orchard.
When you come to the rest area on the edge of the footpath next to the Santa Giustina dam, follow the path along the dam until you come to the large car park next to a high street with some shops, a cafe and a restaurant. Cross the park, turn left and continue along the tarred, traffic-free road through the fields and back to Tassullo station.
At the bottom of the canyon, a new bridge crosses the river Noce where walkers can visit the picturesque 13th century hermitage.
