From San Leonardo in Passiria (St. Leonhard in Passeier) at 693 m, follow the trail markings (No. 13) and signs for St. Anna. You’ll start out amidst houses, heading southeast up to the edge of the village. You’ll go through fields and past farms on your way over to the forest: walk along the broad forest road, most of which has only a slight uphill grade. The hike is easy, crossing the southern side of Pfistradtal Valley and finally ascending a little bit, close to the river, as you go up towards some meadows, and to the main mountain hut (Haupthütte) at 1,358 m, which serves food; around 2.5 hours from San Leonardo. For the descent, you can either take the route of ascent (1.5 hours) or opt for the following route: take the same trail back as far as the crossroads. Turn right, and take the wooden bridge across Pfistradbach (or Rasimbach) Stream. Follow the forest road, on the orographic right side of the valley, out to another fork. Turn left, passing farms and going through woods, down to Karlegger Straße Road, which will take you back to San Leonardo; 2 hours from Pfistrad.
