Directions
Start at the head of Ridanna (Ridnauner) Valley (1,417 m); here, you’ll find a parking area, an old ore processing facility, a museum and other buildings of the former mine at Schneeberg Mountain. Take a right on Trail No. 9, which runs alongside Fernerbach Stream, with only a moderate grade, up the valley, to the vast Sennerboden or Aglsboden Plateau (around 1,700 m; at the back end of the plateau is the hut of the Sennerbodenalm pastures, which is open, at 1,717 m). On the eastern edge of the plateau, Trail No. 9A branches off to the right from the main trail, leading to some mountain refuges, and goes steeply up to the grassy slopes above the Aglsalm alpine pasture hut (2,004 m). Descend the same way you came up; you can opt to do the lower part along the forest road; 1.5 hours in total.
