An easy track along pleasant pastures towards one of the most beautiful places

Directions

Leave the parking area behind, and you will see a large gate without a lock (remember to shut it behind you). Continue on a gentle descent between large mastic trees and wide fields of grass. The track is indicated by little piles of rocks and arrows – again, built with stones – at the few forks you will find along the way. Even if you go off-track, you will be on paths for cattle that graze freely here. So you can recognize immediately if you have gone off the main road. Along the way, there are often half-buried walls – a sign of the long-standing human presence in this area, favoured by the richness of the water and the semi-flat terrain. Walk on among reed trees and large mastic bushes – mainly on flat land and in the north-east direction, with small changes. After passing a last thick lentisk bush, you finally reach the sight of the Tomb standing above the vegetation with its stele almost 4 meters high. The return journey is the same as the outward journey.
