Located in the most southern corner of the Caleri peninsula, the Garden separates the sea from the Caleri lagoon, which covers a surface of 44 hectares and is characterized by the presence of a large number of habitats, ranging from the lagoon to the dunes and the beach. The flora includes a wide range of species, including some rare endemic ones, such as Centaurea tommasinii andsaltwort. These hardly altered environments host a large number of animals: among the avian species, the elusive goatsucker and the colourful bee-eater deserve mentioning; among amphibians, the extremely rare spadefoot toad, which is present only in this Garden throughout the Veneto Region; among the reptiles not to forget the European pond turtle.
