Directions
Begin by either driving or taking the little cable car from Rablà (Rabland) that goes up to the mountain village of Aschbach (1,362 m); the valley station is located opposite the village, at the southern foot of the mountain. From the top, follow trail markings (No. 28) along an access road, which is moderately steep, through the forest is a rather straight line, without orientation problems, up to the Vigiljoch pass (about 1,740 m; near the Jocher Inn and the little Church of San Vigilio (St. Vigil); a good hour from Aschbach. From there, stay with trail markings (No. 9/9A) and signs for Naturnser Alm: you’ll head southwest through the forest until you are below Rauchbühel Hill and then, it’s nearly flat at the tree line across to the Naturnser Alm alpine farm (1,922 m; serves food); a good hour from Vigiljoch. Descent: From Naturnser Alm, follow trail markings (No. 27), mostly a moderate downhill hike, crossing the beautiful Siebenbrunner Forest, which is named after the water sources in the area (Sieben = seven; Brunnen = springs); then continue northeast down to Aschbach; 1.5 hours from the Alm.
