Val di Fassa - the popular circular hiking trail

The circular hike around the world-famous Rosengarten massif surprises you with breathtaking viewpoints and cosy refreshment stops. The imposing Rosengarten consists of rugged rocks and scree fields. The marked hiking trails lead from the Paolina Hut, which you reach by cable car, to the Rotwand Hut.

Then you go over the Cigolade Pass and the Tschagerjoch to the beautifully situated Rosengarten Hut. You should definitely take a break here, because the view is fantastic. A fascinating natural spectacle is the alpenglow on the steep, bright rock faces at sunset.

The Latemarium Adventure Kingdom in Val d'Ega

With the Latemarium Adventure Kingdom in Obereggen, Pampeago and Predazzo, the natural jewel around the Latemar mountain massif has been opened up close to nature. Eight unique themed trails, each with a special motto such as nature, panorama, relaxation or art, lead to popular alpine huts. On the Ilatemar.Panorama theme trail there is a stage of the Eggental mountain cinema, which offers a wonderful panoramic view.

Spectacular views and breathtaking distant vistas are also offered by the Latemar.360° viewing terraces, where you will find yourself at an altitude of more than 2000 metres.

The Latemar.Meteo, on the other hand, awaits you with information boards all about the weather. At the end of the trail, you can even continue your hike with the geological nature trail "Dos Capèl", which takes you on a journey through time.

Hiking for the whole family

Especially if you are travelling with the whole family, a leisurely hike to the Messnerjoch alpine hut is worthwhile. After the short hike, the children can let off steam in the small playground while you wait for delicious South Tyrolean specialities. From tasty dumplings to homemade cakes, there is everything your culinary heart desires. You can also enjoy a spectacular view of the Schwarzhorn, Weißhorn, Latemar and the impressive mountain landscape of the Schlern - Rosengarten Nature Park from the sunny terrace of the hut.

Guided hikes in the Eggental Dolomites

Since 2009, the area of the Dolomites has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its geological peculiarities such as unique rock layers with bizarre peaks and rock formations. If you are interested in the formation and the interesting flora and fauna between Rosengarten and Latemar, a guided hike is just the thing. With trained guides, the hiking trail becomes an exciting and instructive adventure path for nature enthusiasts. In the Steinegg area you can learn about old traditions that are still maintained here.

Hikes with via ferrata

The combination of hiking and via ferrata is popular when hiking in Val d'Ega. If you like a little thrill, you will discover great tours over rocky mountain crevasses and scree fields. For example, you will find an easy via ferrata between the Latemar towers on the Latemar crossing from Obereggen to Karer See.

The seven villages in Val d'Ega are ideal for overnight stays and as starting points for hikes. All villages are connected by a bus network:

  • Eggen - worth seeing is the parish church of St. Nicholas with its Gothic bell tower
  • Deutschnofen - with Thurn Castle, bike park, parish church and St. Helena's little church
  • Steinegg - the "star village" is right next to the star observatory, observatory and planetarium
  • Petersberg - from here it is only a stone's throw to the famous pilgrimage church of Maria Weissenstein
  • Welschnofen - the valley station of the Welschnofen cable car is right in the middle of the village
  • Carezza - lies directly next to Lake Carezza
  • Obereggen - lies in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage Site
