The difficult, eight-kilometer-long direct route from the top station of the Florian lift has a walking time of about three hours. On the summit you can expect a sensational view into the valley, over the Alpe di Siusi and up to the Ötztal and Ortler Alps. If you have enough time and stamina, but don't necessarily want to climb the peak itself, you can hike all the way around the Sassolungo massif in 8 hours. The circumnavigation is a classic among the hikes in the Dolomites and offers fantastic views, famous huts and well-marked trails. If you book a place to sleep in one of the huts early enough, you can also extend the hike to two days.
