Stage destinations: Long-distance routes through the Allgäu

Numerous national and international long-distance trails stop off in the Allgäu. The best known of these is probably the European long-distance hiking trail E5, which starts in Oberstdorf and leads over the mountains to Merano in South Tyrol. If you want to see more of the Allgäu, you can take the Oberallgäu circular hiking trail or the Schwäbisch-Allgäu hiking trail. The Heilbronner Weg is an insider tip for hikers with mountain experience. It leads through alpine terrain from the Rappenseehütte to the Waltenbergerhaus or to the Kemptner Hütte – stop for refreshments and overnight stays included, of course. All these routes require a certain basic level of fitness and appropriate equipment.

Hiking with the whole family

The hilly foothills of the Allgäu Alps are ideal for hiking with children. Numerous lifts, especially in the Upper and Eastern Allgäu, make the way up easy so that everyone can enjoy the stunning panorama of the Allgäu Alps directly.

For children, there are numerous themed trails in the Allgäu with stations for learning, playing and discovering – as well as beautiful destinations around which you can stretch your legs for a short or long time, as the mood takes you.

Hiking trails to the Allgäu Pleasure Alps

A stop for refreshments should not be missing on any hike: It tastes best in a traditional alpine pasture. A good snack strengthens you and makes up for tired legs, no matter how hard the climb.

Hungry athletes look forward to one thing abouve all: a hearty snack, a tasty piece of cake and a refreshing drink. All the better if you know that all the ingredients come directly from the region. ...
