The Refuge de Miage is a picturesque and well-time inn and restaurant in the mountains above les Contamines.

After hiking over the Tricot pass, you descend to a beautiful little valley surrounded by majestic peaks.  The Miage valley is pastoral and peaceful, with a smattering of chalets and barns and one little inn right in the middle of the meadow.

This is also an overnight stop for some, a simple inn with a selection of dorm rooms and just a couple private rooms.  On our tours though, this is lunch.  We love to stop here at midday when hiking to les Contamines, sit outside on one of their picnic tables, and enjoy a bowl of soup or slice of homemade pie (or both).  Even if we're planning to picnic later on, we'll stop for a drink and to soak in the atmsphere.   Cash only.

You can refill water at the spring just past the hut.
