Hochganghaus

Surrounded by an amphitheater of peaks, Schutzhaus Hochgang is located in a gifted position on the slopes of the Texelgruppe and is an excellent starting point for excursions in the Naturpark Texelgruppe.

The most pleasant route is from Vellau with the Kübellift to the Leiteralm and then on foot in 1 1/2 hours to the refuge. As a reward there is a magnificent view of Merano, in back the steeply rising mountain flanks, in front of you the view over the Adige Valley and far beyond. You just want to enjoy, lean back and let the scenery take effect on you. Especially in the evening, when silence falls over the meadows around the Hochganghaus and the last rays of the sun play around the weather cross on the massive rocky outcrop, you immerse yourself in the rhythm of nature.

Preserving this idyll is a major concern of the Erlacher family. This also includes the cultivation and teaching of culinary traditions. The house is the starting point for a path to the west to the Sattelspitze and to the east over the Taufenscharte to the Mutspitze. Directly above the house you reach the Hochgangschartl. From here you can reach the Spronser Seen, to the east the Spronser Rötelspitze and to the west the Tschigat and further over the Halsljoch the Lazinser Rötelspitze.
