Informationen zu Tuffalm

A fantastic atmosphere, delicious South Tyrolean cuisine, splendid hospitality and nature all around you. In 2007, the Tuffalm in the Vols area was voted South Tyrol's most beautiful alpine hut, and it is easy to see why. This cosy wooden hut, situated on a huge alpine pasture, offers magnificent views and a romantic atmosphere all year round. Highlights for our younger visitors include a petting zoo and large playground. A trip to the Tuffalm is always an adventure.

We are from the end of march till the middle of novembre.

From Vols, hikers can comfortably reach the Tuffalm in just over an hour; from Seis or Kastelruth it will take slightly longer. At the Völser Weiher lake, visitors to the Tuffalm can use a horse-drawn carriage for a romantic ride. The Tuffalm is also an ideal stopover for hiking tours in the region.
The Tuffalm toboggan run to the Völser Weiher lake is a winter highlight. A Winter Fun Park for kids is situated right beside the hut which offers delicious meals and an opportunity to warm up. A pleasant atmosphere, good food and friendly service are all things that matter greatly to the Tuffalm's hosts. Please come and visit us and see for yourself!

The cosy, quiet Tuffalm is situated near the Völser Weiher lake at the foot of the Schlern mountain. It is a wonderful spot to savor and enjoy.

Typical South Tyrolean cuisine

Meals at the Tuffalm are mainly typical South Tyrolean dishes. There are many types of dumplings – including bacon, cheese and spinach varieties which are freshly prepared each day. A Marende platter (an afternoon snack) or home made apple strudel are also best savored in the open air. Hirtenmaccheroni (a pasta dish) accompanied by a crunchy salad is the taste of pure, unspoilt nature. Special requests are often part of celebrations and other cosy nights in.
Hot meals are served from 11.00am to 6.00pm.

Don't leave without trying a Kaiserschmarrn.

There are various special events and festivities throughout the year, including the Tuffalm Fest, the toboggan cross-country championship, and the Almabtrieb (bringing down the cattle from the mountain pastures). They are all well attended and good entertainment. There is never any shortage of food and drink, and lots of fun for visitors and guests who are very well looked after. Watch out – there is even some dancing!

A horse-drawn carriage – the best way to travel.
