Fortified castle, listed as a historic monument. Built at the end of the 12th century and complete in the 15th century. There is a dungeon and six turets, it is still lived in today. A vegetable garden which is labelled as 'remarkable' and a silver mining museum exist in the grounds.
Perched high above the Rhône valley on its volcanic neck, Rochemaure castle has still not yielded all its secrets. It was probably built by the Adhémar family from Montélimar between the 11th and 12th centuries. The old village is well worth a visit and offers marvellous views over the river.

A 13th century feudal fortress which was remodelled in the 17th century. The keep offers magnificent views of the Limagne, the Combrailles and Mont Dore. During thesummer, enjoy treasure hunts and enigmas involving observation, deduction and logic.
Perched high up in the hills overlooking Ambérieu-en-Bugey the Château des Allymes has stood guard over the town since the 14th century. The château was built by the Dauphin of Vienne in 1310. It fell into the hands of the Duke of Savoy in 1335 and became part of France again in 1601.
