Informationen zu Castle Haselburg
The castle was vastly restructured by the Herren von Völs in the years between 1474 and 1541. Most of the changes done to the castle are still visible today. The cover-up of the western Romanic complex, the arcade-hall in the eastern wing and the rework of the palas to the north. Precious fresco cycles decorate the most important rooms of this castle with its three wings.
The look of the castle as it is today date back to 2001/02, the years of the careful restauration of the castle. The arcades were freed from the disturbing parts added in the 18th century, the destroyed palas was rebuilt, and the cellar was dug out again and added to the subterranean hall. The medieval building is today used for seminars and events, along with the refined restaurant.
The castle Haselburg is located on the porphyry-rocks above Bozen. A castle with a beautiful view, first mentioned in the 12th century.
