The Ifinger is the trademark of the city of Merano.The natural road leading up to the Kuhleitenhütte becomes very steep and rough soon after the Waidmannalm, here good riding technique is required both on the ascent and on the descent, otherwise this tour is not recommended. The normal route to the summit of the Großer Ifinger - a nice, well-secured via ferrata - is hidden on the north-eastern side and requires attention and a little mountain experience.
