After completing the Mantuan-Veronese stretch between Ostiglia and Cologna Veneta, which leads largely across the plains as far as the Valli Grandi, the Green Tour itinerary continues to follow the route of the former railway to Treviso, entering the corridor between the Berici mountains and the Euganean hills. This area is also flat but characterised by the view (within pedalling distance) of the nearby reliefs, an area which offers splendid environmental and artistic treasures as well as food and wine, certainly among the most fascinating and rich places of interest in the region.
Also in this stage, almost entirely in the province of Vicenza, the land of the former Ostiglia railway is mostly to be salvaged for use in cycling routes but it will remain a constant presence in our journey, thanks to our view of the tree-lined former track, the old stations and level crossing attendants’ houses, and even riding along some stretches of the line from time to time.

First half was great, we enjoyed it very much, beautiful views, great paths. The second part was on roads with a bit of traffic, which was not so pleasant, but still fun.
