In the heart of the Dolomites
The province of Belluno, in Northern Italy, is probably one of the most beautiful provinces of the Dolomites par excellence. Geographically it belongs to Veneto, and it has to be crossed to reach the northernmost areas of Veneto, the Tre Cime or the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Natural Park coming from the south, or to reach Alto Adige if you don't want to pass through Trentino. And yet the Province of Belluno should not be considered only a place of passage or an obligatory stopover. On the contrary, it is worth actively exploring every corner of this fascinating place, which offers a lot: it can in fact be described as a natural balcony on the Cadore, framed by the breathtaking peaks and rock formations of the Dolomites, and from which the Piave Valley overlooks. Quiet and peaceful, varied and exciting, sometimes high in the mountains, sometimes flatter in the Po Valley - an ideal place for a relaxing and family-friendly holiday. By the way, the name 'Belluno' has Celtic origins and derives from the term 'Belo-Dunum', which means 'shiny and bright city'. The term probably refers to the provincial capital, which was crowned 'Alpine City of the Year' in 1999. In the city or in the countryside, on the plain or in the Dolomites - in the Province of Belluno you can enjoy the view of a wonderful landscape everywhere.
