Informationen zu Museum Ladin Ursus ladinicus
The museum focuses on the prehistoric cave bear and the geology of the Dolomites. Its three floors explain the history and habitat of the cave dwelling bears that lived some 40,000 years ago. The original bones, teeth and skulls of the newly discovered cave bear species Ursus ladinicus form the core of the museum. Video installations, a complete skeleton, an accurate replica of a sleeping Ursus ladinicus and of the brown bear M12 (Mico) complete the display.
