Shining sparks and flames. Witches scream and laugh around a fire. For years they have been meeting to dance on the ridge of the Seiser Alm – Alpe di Siusi and conjure up thunder and lightning. This is the way the tale portrays the Seiser Alm – Alpe di Siusi witches.

Seiser Alm – Alpe di Siusi, is the biggest European plateau. It extends from Schlernmassiv – Massiccio dello Sciliar until the Felsen des Lang- und Plattkofels – rocce del Sassopiatto e del Sassolungo. Seiser Alm – Alpe di Siusi gives its name to the entire region that comprises Tiers, Völs, Seis und Kastelruth – Tires, Fiè allo Scilliar, Siusi and Castelrotto villages where high society and rural life live close together.

Up to two thousand metres in altitude nature is ever present and dominates the entire Seiser Alm – Alpe di Siusi mountain. The Seiser Alm – Alpe di Siusi is a playground for passionate sportsmen and sportswomen. This alpine territory appreciated both by hikers and mountain bikers, becomes a perfect location for skiing and cross-country skiing in winter as it offers many kilometres of perfectly prepared ski slopes.

In the middle of kräftigem Nadelwald – Selva di Castelvecchio, just on top of the Alpe di Siusi, is the Burgruine Hauenstein – rovina Hauenstein: the Hauenstein ruins.
Alpe di Siusi has had a continuous growth in its number of tourists in the last decade. In order to guarantee a sustainable development and growth of tourism, the majority of the territory is only open to agricultural transportation and traffic. Tourists can reach Seiser Alm – Alpe di Siusi by getting on a modern cable car or shuttle.
